Referrals to clinics and outpatient departments

Once the clinician has referred you to a clinic or outpatient department please allow time for the referral to be received and processed by the team you are referred to. 

If you do not receive any communication from the department you have been referred to please contact that department directly.  We are not informed of when your appointment is likely to be.  If your symptoms worsen however, please do speak to our Reception team. 

All clinics and outpatient departments are experiencing delays due to Covid-19 pandemic.  

Important information regarding 2 Week Wait Cancer Referrals; we have been advised by Mid-Essex CCG that all Cancer Clinics are subject to delay. 

We are a Mid-Essex CCG GP Practice therefore routine referrals need to be sent to Broomfield.  Not all services at Colchester have been commissioned by the CCG and therefore you may not be able to be referred to Colchester in all cases.
